Charlie launched his new "at-large" youth ministry called "Upward Bound Ministries" in 1997. Since that time, God has gradually shifted the focus of Upward Bound Ministries toward children. Today, Uncle Charlie's priorities include leading worship for children, recording kids praise music, and creating music resources for children's ministers. Charlie also plans to write discipleship material for kids.

Charlie, his wife Tammy, and his two sons, Andrew and Matt, live in Tampa Florida, and are members of Idlewild Baptist Church.  Charlie got his stage name, "Uncle Charlie" from the orphan children while leading worship at an annual kids camp in Uganda, East Africa.   They affectionately call all their elders Uncles and Aunties!

Charlie loves to minister in a variety of churches of different denominations through his Kids Praise Rallies.  The livelier the church, the better! Charlie wants churches to know that his music is high-energy, upbeat, enthusiastic, and contagious! His aim is to lift up the name of Christ so that men, women, and children will be drawn to Him and experience the joy that Christ brings into our lives!  Charlie and his singing/recording partner, Rachel Sanchez, also lead worship at various kids camps across the country during the summer months.
