Hey gang! This is my first ever blog for kids”! Hope you like it! Rachel and I are very excited to be able to sing for you guys and lead you in songs that will help you get excited about Jesus! But we want to do more, so we created the Kidz Corner for you on this web site. We hope that Kidz Corner will keep you coming back to our web site so that we can share our hearts with you, find out what's on your mind, give you a little help along your kids journey and have a little fun!

You'l find all kinds of cool stuff on the Kidz Corner page, and we plan to have even more later! As you read this blog, you will learn some stuff that will help you be better, stronger kids for the King. You can also check out our surveys for kids, ask questions that Rachel and I can help you with, vote on our polls, and more! I'l try to update my blog at least once a month so you can read new stuff, take new polls, etc. So have fun and let us know what you think!

Cya here, there, or in the air!
Uncle Charlie

To be updated soon!

This link on the Kidz Corner page will allow you to take our monthly poll questions and see how the poll shapes up! It will be interesting to see what gets the most votes each month! Right now we are focusing on some of your favorite Uncle Charlie and Rachel songs. Please vote only once!

In this section, we will attempt to write a short kids devotion that teaches from one or more of our songs. We'll ask you to listen to a particular song if you have it handy, then do the devotion. You can even print the devotion off and do it close to your CD player, or somewhere where you can wear your walkman, or wherever you want! This is our way of helping you apply what the songs teach! Not only that, it will help you to develop a time alone with God, which is the most important thing to help you grow to be a strong Christian! Let us know what you think of our Devotions in Motion”! Here's our very first one below!

Be a Bright Light!
If you have the Superhero CD, listen to the All Star song. The words are inside the CD cover so you can read along or sing along. (alternate song: His love Goes On Forever on the Say Hey CD.)

Wow! Can believe summer is already over and it's already time to go back to school! Time flies when we're goofin' off! I wonder what you like best about going back to school? Is it getting a new teacher? Making new friends? Getting lots of homework or eating that good ol cafeteria food? (haha!)

I'd like to share a few thoughts with you that may help you through your school experience this year. Is that cool? Good! Here we go!

If I were to ask you what your purpose for going to school?”, most of you would probably say something like to get an education...duhhh, Charlie! Yes, that's very important and we should all do our very best to learn and be good students.

But have you ever stopped to think that there may be more to going to school that just getting all those smarts”? Think about this: God wants you to be a shining light for Him! You see, there are lots and lots of students in your classes and in your school that have never gone to church or never heard about the good news that Jesus loves them. Some may come from families that don't talk about God or church and stuff like that.

The Bible says that many people live in darkness because they do not understand about Jesus. It's like trying to find your way in a dark room when the electricity has gone out. Pretty hard to get around, huh? You would need something like a flashlight or a candle so you can find your way around. Well, guess what? Jesus wants YOU to be a light for Him, so that others who walk in spiritual darkness can know the way to heaven! Wow, isn't that cool? God actually wants to use YOU just like a flashlight! What an honor!

By your words and your actions, you can be a light that shows the way to many other children at your school who are lost in the dark! So every day when you wake up, ask God how He can use you that day to be a shining light for Him. You'll be surprised how your whole attitude about school will change when you see a higher purpose” for going to school!

Here's some homework for you! (Oh boy, more homework!)

1. Look up Matthew 5:14-16 in your Bible and see what God has to say about being a shining light. You might want to use a highlighter or colored pencil and mark those verses so they will be easy to find next time.
2. Pray and ask God to show you some different ways that you can be a shining light for Him this year in school. Then write those things down on a piece of paper or a notebook as you think of them. (Example: pray for your food, do kind deeds for people, invite some friends to church)
3. Every day before you go to school, pray that God will help you do at least one of those things on your list. You will be surprised how school can be so exciting!
